While the library is CLOSED due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, you are invited to register for a card online.
To register for a library card:
Visit the library's basic catalogue.
1. Click on New User
2. Fill in the form.
3. Click on I Accept.
4. Library staff will process new card applications and contact you with your new library card number as soon as possible. The physical card will be mailed to you.
Cards registered by online expire after 90 days. When the library reopens, you will need to come to the library and show photo identification to renew your card.
During the closure, no overdue fines will accrue and requested materials will be held for pickup after we reopen. Patrons will not be able to reserve materials through Bibliocommons or Inter-Library Loan during the closure.
Who can apply for a Library card?
Any resident of Perth East, Stratford, North Perth, West Perth, St. Marys or Perth South may obtain a Perth East Public Library Card FREE of charge.
Visiting Perth East? If you are visiting the area for an extended period of time, you can obtain a visitor card for $7 per month. Restrictions to checkouts apply.
Thanks to the Perth County Information Network, your Perth East Public Library card allows you to borrow items from the St. Marys, North Perth (Listowel, Monkton and Atwood) West Perth (Mitchell), and Stratford public libraries.
In order to access your library account online, place a hold, or to download ebooks or audiobooks, you will need a PIN. The library has assigned you a PIN and it is the last 4 digits of your phone number. You can change your PIN to an alternate 4 digit code in the online catalogue.
Do not give out your PIN, as doing so may permit access to information on your library account.
Renewing your Library Card
Every two years, your library card will need to be renewed. You can renew by visiting the library or calling 519-595-8395 during business hours.
To see when your library card expires, log into your library account in the catalogue, then click on My Settings in the top right corner.
